DDVMH Acquires New 1.5 Tesla MRI

The ECHELON Smart – 1.5T Superconductive MRI is here in Dagupan! Boasting both extraordinary image quality and exquisitely smooth workflow performance, it also features quiet sound technology that helps deliver a more pleasant patient experience and an energy-saving function that reduces running costs.

Diseases that can be diagnosed by the MRI machine include: acute/early strokes, as an adjunct to the array of stroke services available, anomalies of the brain and spinal cord; tumors, cysts, and other anomalies in various parts of the body; injuries or abnormalities of the joints, certain types of heart problems; diseases of the liver and other abdominal organs; the evaluation of pelvic pain in women, and in women undergoing evaluation for infertility.

Leading the multimodality approach to medical care in the region, DDVMH is also committed in providing advanced imaging techniques that will diagnose a wider spectrum of diseases that was not possible before. Delivering the best possible care to patients for 50 years!

The New SOMATOM 64-slice CT

Launched in November 2017 at the Radiological Society of North America Annual Convention in Chicago, Illinois, the new scanner features high-end capabilities seen only in 128 slice and higher CTs. Studies are automated and can be run using a built-in tablet. It boasts of lower radiation dose thanks to tin filter, stellar detector, and iterative reconstruction. It can perform CT angiograms except for coronary CTA, low dose lung nodule screening, automatic spine and rib numbering, bone subtraction, dual energy kidney stone, and gout scanning, CT colonography, brain perfusion, oncology studies and many more.

Now we have faster scanning, fewer motion artifacts and shorter breath-hold times. A better patient experience, and high-quality imaging in one!
